How I built a model railroad in an apartment and still got my security back.

6/30/09 Started on the Rock Formations
On model railroad there are many methods for making rock formations. The best ones are painstakingly carved by hand. I have neither the skill, time nor most of all patience for that. I chose the popular “cast and stick” method for about half of mine, the result of which can be seen in the above photo. Basically you fill a rubber mold with plaster, it ain’t rocket surgery but it a lot of work. For the other 50% of the rocks I plan to use a much simpler method.
